One day - a day in the city

The Design Centre Launceston

The Design Centre Launceston

Spend the day exploring the hub of the north – Launceston city.  For a small city, there’s plenty to do for a day.

Walk up to Cataract Gorge on the city’s verge, crossing Kings Bridge and up the Main Walk.  Stop for refreshments at the kiosk or across the way at the Basin cafe using the chair lift one way and the suspension bridge the other.

Spend some time at City Park and check out the monkey enclosure.  Right next door is the Design Centre of Tasmania showcases the talent of Tasmanian designers.

Across the bridge is the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery at Inveresk.

Check out the Free Tiger Bus timetable and make the most of free transport.  Cool off and swim some laps at the upgraded Launceston Aquatic Centre, and enjoy some food at the Seaport.

Boags Brewery, Launceston

If you can find time to squeeze in a Boags Brewery tour you won’t regret it.

Lunch at: Blue Café, Inveresk or Seaport
