Heritage Highway (2 DAYS)

Start your historic journey in Launceston . . .

Day 1

Start your historic journey by picking up your car at the airport and heading five minutes south to Evandale. This little town is filled with beautiful hundred year old cottages and vintage shop fronts. While you are in Evandale make sure to pop into the historic Ingleside Bakery Cafe for a coffee before you get back on the road.

Continue further south to Campbell Town where you can indulge at Red Bridge Cafe and Provedore filled with pastries, local produce; cool climate wines all to be enjoyed in front of an open log fire. Next check out the Convict Brick Trail which commemorates the local convict history then move along to the convict built Red Bridge.

Continue further south to Ross. Check out the Ross Bridge which is the second oldest bridge in Tasmania and uniquely carved with 186 icons adorning its 6 arches. Completely convict built, its carvings depict flowers, animals and faces, which, according to folklore, are notable characters of the time. Stay this evening at Ross Bakery Inn.

Day 2

Rise and shine! Time to go and find yourself something for breakfast at the historic Ross Village Bakery. Now you are on your way to Longford, for a tour and farm animal feeding at Brickendon. When you are ready for lunch get to Hubert and Dan for a flavour sensation then pop next door to Brave Art Gallery to investigate which artist Ness has on show today.
