Flinders Island is a part of the Furneaux group of islands off the north east corner of mainland Tasmania.  Flinders has a small population of around 900 which swells in summer when the holiday home owners from Tasmania and Victoria come over for weeks at a time.  Flinders is known for crayfish, killiecrankie diamonds, stunning beaches, abundant wildlife and a laidback atmosphere that makes you relax into island time instantly.

Whilst there are some great cafes and restaurants around, it’s always nice to eat outside in the fresh air. 6. Great Coffee

Flinders Island is pretty small with a small population.  That, in itself, is part of it’s charm, there are only two coffee shops on the whole island, so chances are good, if you hang around drinking coffee fairly regularly, you’ll meet some great characters.
